This Lotus Elan is probably one of the best sorted and finest driving on the market today.
This Elan has been built over the last 10 years by a very fastidious British engineer.
( Well known for his Healey, E Type and lotus restorations over the last four decades ).
This Lotus has been totally gone through and sorted.
It is now, twice the car it was when it left the Hethel factory.
Extremely well behaved for in town driving and very exciting for country and mountain roads.
Below is a full list of all work done on the Lotus.
The 5 speed box is very rare and takes driving to a new level, especially with the revised ratios.
A very straight car and corrosion free.
Still in its original colors.

1972 Elan Sprint Spider
Full mechanical overhaul and upgraded over 10 years
Engine
Fully rebuilt and balanced blueprinted
JE pistons, Cometic head gasket, vernier cam sprockets with race cams. Dave Vegher flowed head, probably the last Lotus he did. Windage tray, 10:1 compression 195 lbs/in on all cylinders, runs fine on premium 2 inch breather from original fuel pump orifice on block very minor oil leaks.
Transmission
Lotus 5 speed, fully rebuilt, custom gear knob
Drivetrain
Lower ratio diff and CV style axleshafts
Fuel system
Renu?ed tank, SU pump and glass filter bowl in trunk, copper fuel line, New jetted 45 DCOE carbs K&N filter with stock air cleaner box
Exhaust
Heat wrapped Headers with Stainless steel pipe and muffler
Cooling system
American Racing custom radiator, cassette, hi flow water pump, Dual sequential and adjustable cooling fans with warning lights on dash next to an override switch, 60 amp alternator.
Brakes
Stock master with extended reservoir, Dula Sero units in trunk, Stainless lines, GT6 front calipers, drilled and slotted front rotors, greenstuff pads, silicone fluid.
MGB handbrake handle mounted passenger side on to chassis modified to be 60?s style fly-off ( push button in to hold) works very well, much better than the original umbrella style
Suspension
All new adjustable shocks all round, adjustable front shock spring mounts, boxed in front arms, uprated front sway bar with poly bushes
Electrical
Complete bespoke wiring harness with relays, blade fuse box ( behind ash tray, old Volvo style!) and correct color coded wires with full oversize wiring diagram. LED lights all round, new dashboard with refurbished gauges ( Tach needle has become miscolored) Fitted battery tray. All wiring run inside front fender for clean engine bay look and relays, fan controls etc. under panel in front of car. New light units at rear and LED side light units in front. Modified electric vacuum valve for headlight function. Auxiliary start button and jump start post mounted on engine firewall for convenience. Hi Torque starter. Battery cut off switch
Body and exterior
Roll hoops mounted down on to chassis, custom rear deck panel. Raised door caps to give side profile of car clean straight look. New custom chrome lock plates and front frame upright to eliminate cumbersome overhead frame.
All original motors, windows and frames come with the car if new owner wants to put it back to stock. The doors close so much better without the heavy window motors.
Interior
New fully fitted trunk panels, new back panel hiding 3 point retractable seat belt units, repositioned reclined original seats to accommodate 6 foot plus driver in good driving position. New carpet etc.
