Earlier this year I was looking for an almost-vintage Mercedes-Benz 560SL in still good condition, and after a fruitless streak through the proverbial used car salesmen across the entire country I ended up at SportsCar LA almost at my doorstep, which I considered least at first because of their Internet presence.

What I found was - to my greatest surprise - an amazingly large selection of 560SL in all different colours, years and conditions. There was plenty of opportunities to take an undisturbed in-depth look at every vehicle before I discussed the pros and cons of each car with Edward, who turned out extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable about these particular cars on top of his very British way of talking.
